Distributel Phone Service includes these features and functions, however some functions depend on your phone handset model, for example Visual Call Waiting requires a phone with a screen to display the number.

Call waiting
When you are using your phone, a beep will notify you if another call is coming in.
You can disable this feature by dialling *70.  To re-enable this feature, dial *71.

To answer a waiting call (after hearing the beep), simply press the flash or link button, or press and release the receiver button.

Repeat the steps above to alternate between callers.

Waiting calls that are unanswered will go to Voice Mail.

Visual call waiting
See the name and number of the person calling while you’re already on the phone.

Caller ID block
When placing a call, you can block your name and number from appearing on the recipient’s call display.
Simply dial *67 before dialling the destination phone number to block your name and number.

3-way calling
It’s easy to add a 3rd party.

  1. While you are connected to the first person, quickly press and release the receiver, flash or link button. (Refer to your phone user guide if you aren’t sure which button to use.)
  2. Dial the number of the 3rd party. Press and release the receiver, flash or link button again.
  3. You should now do able to speak with both parties.

Speed dialling

To avoid having to type in full phone numbers of frequently called numbers, you can assign a two-digit speed dial code.

You can choose the code you want (between 20 and 49), for up to 30 telephone numbers.

Dial *75, followed by a 2-digit code you want to assign to the phone number.
Then type in 1 and the area code and phone number you want to assign it to.

For example:  *75 + 20 + 1-613-123-4567.

That’s it! For all future calls, you simply dial *20 to reach this telephone number.

Call display
Our Digital Phone Service has the ability to show the name or phone number of callers.
Most phones have the ability to display this information. Check the user manual for your phone to see if your phone supports Call Display.

In some situations a number will not be displayed, for example if the caller is using Block Caller ID.

Call forwarding
You can forward a call to another number.

Dial *72 to enable Call Forwarding
Dial *73 to disable Call Forwarding

To forward a call simply dial *72, followed by 1 and the area code and number you want to forward the call to. Remember, long distance charges may apply.
For example: *72 + 1 + 613-824-5555
