What to Expect After Placing Your Internet Order

Thank you for becoming a Distributel customer. This article highlights what you should expect to happen after placing your order, as we prepare to get you connected and ready to enjoy our services:

 

1. Order confirmation

  • Within 24 hours of placing your order we will send you a service order confirmation via email (verify junk email).

2. Service activation

  • Confirmation of your installation date will be sent via email (verify junk email) or text message within 3 business days. If you have not received a confirmation after 3 business days, please contact us via one of the contact methods listed at the bottom of this page.
  • This confirmation will state whether a technician will be needed.

3. Receiving your Internet modem

  • You will receive your modem by courier within 72 hours.  Once your modem is shipped you will receive a tracking number. Please wait for your service installation date, before setting up your modem

4.  Install your Internet service

  • Your service will go live on your installation date.  In some cases, depending on your home, before we can connect you to our service, we may need a service technician to re-direct the existing wiring to Distributel’s network.
  • Please review the instructions below in preparation for your Installation.

Instructions by installation type

 

A. Requires a technician: The technician will attempt to complete the installation from outside the home. If the technician determines work inside is required, they will contact you at the phone number provided.  After your confirmed installation window, you will need to connect your modem to an active jack/outlet. Allow 5 minutes for all lights to come on and for the service to work.

 

Preparing for your technician home visit

  • A person 18 years or older must be at home during the appointment.
  • The technician should contact you by phone the day of your visit to confirm the time and address, so please keep your phone nearby.
  • If you live in an apartment, please coordinate with your Property Manager to ensure the technician has access to the phone or cable lines, which may be found in an electrical room or panel.
  • On the day of installation, your service may take up to midnight to be fully activated.
  • If you have any questions regarding the status of your order, or to confirm your technician appointment, please contact us via one of the contact methods listed at the bottom of this page.

B. Does not require a technician (auto-installation): If a technician is not needed, activation date and time window will be provided. Please wait until after the time window to connect your modem. Once the time window has passed, please connect your equipment following the provided modem set up guide You should allow 5 minutes for all lights to come on and for the service to work. 

 

If your Internet service is not working after your time window has passed on your installation date, please contact us via one of the contact methods listed at the bottom of this page.
